This place doesn't have a public restroom, if you call in sometimes they are rude. It used to be a lot better quality food, I really don't know what happened. It has went down hill over the past few years. And it isn't the cheapest place around. The double bacon beach burger doesn't really have a taste lol it's bland. Honestly I would recommend going a couple miles back to tellico town square restaurant.
As far as greasy burgers wrapped in wax paper go, the food here is actually pretty good. That said, the service was terrible even on a slow Tuesday mid-afternoon. It took 30 minutes for 2 burgers, a corn dog, and an order of fries. Perhaps we should have been tipped off by the multiple handwritten "please be patient" signs taped to the order window; apparently we're not the only ones who've had to wait on these jokers. Definitely do not expect "fast" food. Unfortunately the "Drive In" is one of maybe 5 restaurants in Tellico Plains, so with limited options, you might as well try your luck.
Though it took a while we all enjoyed our ice cream. Employees were personable and part of why this is a popular place. The ceiling fans are very low in front of the order window; my brother-in-law received a free haircut.
If your not rushed , take time to stop here and enjoy the food & view. Outdoor seating and refills will cost.
This place has been around for a long time and known for the footlong hot dogs and onion rings.. they also make there own ice cream. The seating and view along the river is nice...
