Got into town late on our bikes. We were cold and tired after 10 hours of riding from Florida. As we walked in the heat was on and we were greeted with a smiling server. I ordered the country fried steak dinner and when it was delivered to the table the portions were huge and delicious. It was enough to fill a hungry biker. We spoke with the server and found that they were just closing as we walked in, but he could tell that we needed the break so he said nothing. He quietly cleaned other parts of the restaurant and continued checking on us while we ate. As we finished he insisted we stay a bit longer to get the cold out of our bones. When we left he invited us back on our next trip trough, said goodnight, and we heard the door lock behind him. That was exactly a year ago yesterday. The last weekend of this month we are headed back that way, our first overnight stop is Tellico Plains. I hope the same guy is there to greet us Friday evening. Awesome restaurant.
Running a special 'Eclipse Menu'... read that as 'Increased prices'. Burger was good enough, but for $12 I want a toasted bun, not a slab of cold bread. There was no offer of a tea to go, and the owner was overheard making disparaging remarks about the cooks. Was going to try the green tomato and ham soup, but for $5 PER CUP, it better have gold gilded tomatoes. Ditto the Peach Cobbler... sounded good, but $7 soured us out of trying it. Have eaten there many times on previous trips to Tellico Plains and really enjoyed it. Not this time. REALLY disappointed!
Top notch service and no doubt some of the best food within 50 miles of the area....great job Chef Gary....and thanks Rich Laudeman..(owner operator)anyone in the area should stop by try it for yourself..just like Mikey..you will like it!
Wow. Great food & helpful/friendly staff. You have to order the bread pudding & green tomatoes & ham soup! This place has an excetive chef preparing the food. Put this place on your must stop at on road or motorcycle trip. This is not your old mom & pop cafe but a world class restaurant you would find in a large metropolitan city.
Rich and his staff are ALWAYS courteous and attentive to customer needs. I eat at Tellicafe quite frequently being a Tellico Plains Police Officer. Both on duty and off I always receive the same great level of service and the food is ALWAYS good. I see the negative reviews on here and I scratch my head. If someone has had a bad experience here, tell Rich, the owner. He will do everything he can to make it right. I have literally seen the man bend over backward to fix an order if it isn't satisfactory. And the prices are very reasonable.
