Saw the 2017 eclipse from this place. Couldn't have picked a better spot. The road to the trail is tough but we had a Honda Sedan, an suv

I also experienced the eclipse here. I had planned on viewing from Tellico Plains, but it was a total zoo there.

Beautiful! Would definitely recommend a high road clearance vehicle minimum, four wheel drive best for the road back.

The trail down isn't bad, but if you don't walk up a lot of hills take it slow on the way back up. Water shoes definitely would have been nice also

Gorgeous!! It was neither crowded nor deserted. The drive was pretty rough but there were clear signs all through to get to the trail head. The hike is generally assumed to be strenuous with a kid but we did make it with a 3 year old who hardly walked and its really worth the effort. We had a picnic in the middle of the falls and spent almost 4 hours. Also down the stream there were lots of fish which you could just scoop with the kiddy net. Our son had an awesome time fishing ;-)

As it was early, I decided to check out the falls. It turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life. I almost turned back a few times on the treacherous road leading back, but pressed on, and was rewarded with a most wonderous and beautiful setting. I will definitely make the 600mi trip to visit again.

or truck would definitely be easier. Some yellow jackets but we didn't get stung, and briefly saw a small water moccasin near the bottom of the trail which also just ran away.

This waterfall is absolutely gorgeous! It is a bit of a rough drive for a regular car to get to but if you're a decent driver you'll be fine, we made it perfectly fine in our Mazda3. But if you have a vehicle with higher clearance it will certainly make the drive easier. A trail to it is nice and quick, although it is a bit more difficult heading back up. This waterfall is certainly worth it though!

I have a great picture of the young couple from Pensacola that I would love to share with them.
